Daidengaku & Tenshumonogatari Daidengaku is a form of Japanese art that was revived by Kyogen master Mannojo Nomura, oldest son of Man Nomura who is the leader of Kyogen's Izumi School. Mannojo passed away at a young age due to illness in 2004. His father, Man Nomura, inherited Mannojo's desire to continue the legacy of Daidengaku.

Many groups representing the younger generation (high school and college students) participated in the 15th Annual Honolulu Festival. The high school students came to visit Hawaii as part of their traditional school excursions. The college students were members of their clubs. Their youthfulness was dynamic and powerful.

Japanese Sub-Culture, Anime and Akiba-kei, alive and well in Honolulu! Doraemon, a very popular Japanese anime character who is also Japan's Anime Ambassador, participated in the 15th Annual Honolulu Festival.
