Last year we danced passionately to the theme of “Japanese Festivals”. This year’s Maruoka Amy Production performance will reflect the era of nostalgic American musicals. Our dance is called “Sing Sing Sing” along with a gospel version of “Joyful Joyful”. We will give thanks to life and love by singing “Give Thanks”.
We are the students of Okayama Gakugeikan High School Chorus & Performance Club. Our performance represents an expression of joy and our strength to live, applying our whole bodies to dance to the music. In this particular piece of work featuring the theme of “Japanese festival”, we dance energetically to express the passionate side of Japanese and at the same time the uniquely Japanese traits of gracefulness, sweetness and firmness. The music is from the movie director Takeshi Kitano’s “Zatoichi”. We also perform the world’s beloved song”Amazing Grace” and “Furusato”, the song that lives in every Japanese heart, then, “Thanks for Life and Love” and “Give Thanks Arigato” follow.
